At I/O, there is no need to arrive 15 minutes early and then wait to be called back to the exam room. Dr. Talley will typically be ready to see you at the time you have scheduled. Dr. Talley will then personally perform all aspects of your exam from start to finish (including a review of your health and ocular history) so you won't have to answer the same series of questions multiple times. She feels strongly that knowledge is power, so she has reserved 45 minutes for each exam to throughoughly cover all of the ocular questions you may have (and often questions you didn't know know to ask) along the way. Once your exam is completed, she'll relay the pertinent information directly to one of our eyewear stylists to fit you in your perfect pair of glasses. Your time is valuable, and our priority is to make every minute count. She then graduated Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville with a degree in Microbiology in 2006. While attending UT, she was one of 50 Rising UT Seniors selected to join the Mortar Board Honor Society, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa “the oldest and most prestigious academic honor society in the US,” was Vice President of the UT Equestrian Team, and was a sister of Phi Mu Fraternity. During her school breaks, Dr. Talley worked as an Eyewear Stylist at Image Optical on and off for 10 years. After deciding to pursue a career in Optometry, she attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. There, she was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and received Honors in both Adult Primary Care and Cornea/Contact Lens. She completed Internships at the Ophthalmology practice Campbell, Cunningham, & Taylor in Knoxville as well as highly respected Ducklo EyeCare in Nashville. She was invited to stay on as a Ducklo EyeCare Associate Doctor upon her graduation in 2012, before finally landing back at Image Optical as the full time in-house Optometrist in 2022. Dr. Talley practices medical-based Optometry, focusing on disease prevention, diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment. She enjoys working closely with area MD’s and OD’s to co-manage her patients’ various ocular health needs. She also has a passion for fitting contact lenses - including astigmatism, multifocal, and myopia control for kids and teens. Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys spending time with her Husband (Zach) and two kids (Grey and Ginger). She is a home design and DIY enthusiast, and always has a new project lined up.
