Mello Thompson is an award-winning optician and passionate business owner. As the President, owner and LDO of Image Optical for 30 years, Thompson has achieved unparalleled success in her field. Recognized by Nashville Scene’s “Best Of Nashville” awards as Nashville’s best optical shop for 10 consecutive years, Mello attributes her success to hard work, determination and helping customers. Much like her celebrity clientele, Image Optical has achieved International acclaim. Vision Monday recognized Mello as one of the most influential people in the optical space.

Mello is an avid art collector, residential real estate investor and grassroots community organizer. Thompson helped organize and lead the West End Business Association, along side fellow business owners in the West End / Midtown Corridor. The goal of the new coalition was simple: help mobilize a consistent voice for business owners in an effort to maximize revenue and economic development throughout the region. She is joined by her husband of 38 years, Mark Thompson—former guitarist for Country-music icon Wynonna Judd, among others. Her daughter, Katie, is a part owner in the business and will help continue to cultivate Image Optical’s continued success into the future.
